“Do you think this display is for your benefit or mine?” Emeelie asked casually as they watched Dukk perform a stunt with the air scooter.
“Neither! It is for each other,” Marr answered. “It is a display of dominance. They are competing to see who the alpha is. We all do it, just men more so.”
“You speak is if there is a difference between men and women. We were taught that we are the same and we can choose.”
“What does your experience tell you? Are men and women the same?”
“Well not physically, obviously, that is something that never sat well with me against what we were taught in school.”
“What about behaviour, talents, and tendencies?”
“Well, I guess we do behave differently, and we do certainly compete.”
“For dominance?”
“No, more like influence.”
“Yes, and do we do it in the same manner?”
“No, we do it differently. I see your point. So why were we taught that we are the same?”
“Good question, however, perhaps the answer is for another time.”
“When there is wine,” Emeelie suggested.
“Exactly,” Marr replied.
